My first (and current) Mac was (is) a 1.2 GHz iBook G4 with 30 GB HD and 256 MB of RAM.

I know, I need a new one already...
...at least I upgraded to a 160 GB HD and 768 MB of RAM.

My first Mac was a G4 Graphite Power Mac about nine years ago - brilliant little machine and came with a free Zip disk drive. And I still use it as an iTunes jukebox taking music off my server and still works pretty slickly - not had the balls to upgrade it to Leopard though, only took it up to Tiger.

My first computer was a Macbook with 2.1 GHz. I liked it so much that I decided to buy a stationary iMac and I’m so glad that I did!

For me OS X is was the reason that I’ve switched. Kind of hard explaining but guess it has something to do with the feel of the system and working with it.. It’s just so nice…

MacBook Pro (the last revison before the unibody ones)

I'm a hardcore PC guy. Started on a 386DX2 66MHz with 2MB RAM and a 120MB hard disk. Been tinkering with them and pulling them apart ever since.

Decided on a MBP as my aging Sony VAIO was slowly falling apart. Got a really good deal on it (cheaper than similiarly spec'd Sony) figured if I really didn't like OSX, I'd just use XP on it thanks to the Intel processor and Bootcamp.

Played around with OS X for about a week. Installed a bootcamp partition ready to install XP. Another week later, I format the entire disk to reclaim the bootcamp partition and do a fresh install of OS X -- I was hooked.

I still have my E6750 desktop PC and I think I always will have a desktop PC, but I will always buy a Mac for a laptop. It suits my workflow perfectly and now I'm enjoying the best of both worlds!

I started working at a non-profit that had an Apple grant - Mac pluses. When I finally bought my own computer for home it was an SE30 which got me through grad school followed by a PowerBook 5100 (greyscale). Have had to have some PCs over the years for compatibility reasons but am now all Mac unless using a clients software.

I have a MBP, I listed it on ebay, bought a MB unibody, returned it, and unlisted my MBP.

My first mac that I bought was a Powermac 7600/66.  But I also used mu Mother's Mac IIci.

But before all of that, the family had an Apple IIe...

I made out a whole list of Mac's that I have had or manage here at work...  But I thought it was overkill to post, and off topic..

Well, we had an old Apple II in the house when I was really little, but I don't remember it much so I don't count it.

My first Mac of my own was an iMac G4...the one with the round base and flat panel screen on a metal neck.  I actually got it for free from my university as part of my finacial aid/academic honors, and we had a choice between the iMac and an ugly bulky PC.  Of course I was seduced by the iMac, and I was so enthralled with OSX that I never went back.

My first Apple was the Apple IIe. Then I went PC for a long time.  This was due mainly to the fact that Apple stuck with the Motorolla processors.  I bought the first MacBook Pro they introduced with Intel processors.  Still using it hard every single day.  When Snow Leopard launches I'll upgrade to a unibody Macbook Pro and give this one to my sister.  I suspect she could get another four years out of it as well.

A Power Mac 7200 with 16 MB memory. Initially only 4 MB, but I bought to 8 MB sticks (it was very up-hotted) when I was over in US as it was way much cheaper to buy it overseas at that time.

Can still be, but the prizes don't shift that much today. At that time it costed maybe a 5th  to buy in US comparing to at home.

If I don't remember wrong it was 60MB harddrive.

What a machine, I loved it.

Also I was very early to have internet at home at 1994, I remember my first modem, think it was a Robotics 14,400, that was bandwidth that smile

My first Mac was an Amiga 3000 running an emulator.  I think it was called Shapeshifter.  I ran it for awhile to see which direction I wanted to go since Commodore kept shooting itself in the foot with the Amiga line of computers.

When Apple came out with their line of PCI PowerMacs I made the leap and bought a PowerMac 7500/100.  That was back in 1995 when I bought an HP 6MP laser printer to go with it.  PowerMac was retired in 2000 after a processor and memory upgrade.  I'm still using the HP 6MP to this day.  Great printer!

For what it's worth just before OSX came out I got incredibly bored with Macs and jumped to the Windows side but kept an eye on the Mac side.  2005 rolled around and I snatched up a 12" Powerbook that lasted 3.5 years before being stolen when my house was burglarized.

Macbook Pro these days.
