Girls are alienated by all the creepy guys on the internet. If I post, "I am a guy" no one cares. If someone posts, "I am a girl," the thread gets flooded with "Hey ladiessssss" and of course, "Tits or GTFO," etc.

Not all girls, of course, but a large percentage. That being said, glad you're all here smile Carry on.

Men, in general think more in the abstract world, such as computers and video games.
Women, in general think more in the real world, closeness, relationships, touch/feely.

Any thoughts on this?

It's a saying, actually.

I'm a girl (female), too. And there are plenty of us on technologically-focused sites. Those who don't think there are haven't been looking, or are too busy focusing on the technology to care. ^^

Yes but doesn't those worlds come together in many ways within computers? As they are a way to connect with people a lot. The communication part is women often more skilled in then many men, I mean communication about real things then smile

True on many forum, but definitely not all. When I feel a too crappy macho attitude on some forums I don't reveal that I am a woman, to get away from that 'disadvantage' that it gives me. On other forums it's not a problem. I try not to waste time or energy on that just going with what I feel on different places.

Sort of choosing where I want only the tech stuff and where I feel I can and want to share more.

Still haven't heard a real explanation of it yet, that would be interesting to hear. I've also met guys who says they are lesbians in men's body, but I hardly think any of them know what they are talking about. I haven't heard a well through thought on it, only some crappy fantasies that swirl around in their heads. That's why I wanted to see IF there was an explanation now or just an imaginative fantasy life, as it usually are smile

Neither. It's just a joke. It's supposed to be a clever way of saying they are attracted to women, and is also probably meant to be a clever way of being cute and flirty. I've never thought it was much of either.

@Lioness: there is one plausible explanation. A person I know of had a sex-change operation. Physically, he/she can neither be considered a true male (vital organs missing, physiology wrong) nor a true female (vital organs missing, didn't grow up as a female and thus doesn't really know what a female is except as a second hand experience). - Here my statements are valid for this person only, I'm not generalizing.

This person is openly "lesbian" today (a long time after the operation), since he/she didn't find men very... pleasurable or attracting.

Weird, yes. True nevertheless. And, kind of sad, since before the operation, he was married and a father of two.

Yes, that seems like a real explanation, not an usual one though.
Many are the roads humans travel to get to know themselves deeply. She is probably still 'father' or a parent at least. Little OT though but hope she still can have the relation with the children regardless of sexchange.

I'm also a female.  I decidedly reside in the "male" world of computers and video games.  Between my video work, web design, love of comics, and overall computer obsession, I often find that I'm the one girl surrounded by about five guys.  Then again, until college, I was always more comfortable hanging out with the guys than with the girls.  I'm back to my old habits now that I'm done.  There are so few women at my place of work that it's not unusual to see the guys steal the girl's bathroom of theirs is already occupied.

For at least a few years my most-used nickname contained "girl". Sometimes it was nice because everyone knew I wasn't a 'he'/'his'/'him'. Unfortunately there were several times I regretted my choice.
