The Lounge • More replacement icons for NewsFire
I know that there's already a thread with some replacement icons for NewsFire - but I decided to have a quick go at some replacement icons for it too.
Here's the link to download: NewsFire Icons v2.2
And you can check out a preview of the icons here:Screen Shot
Enjoy!
And by the way, if you're reading this David - please get someone to do a proper icon for NewsFire, it's a great program except for that!
Edit: Updated the icons and added a preview image.

could you please put up a preview so we don't have to download the dmg to see them?
Those are great! But what program do I have to use? It doesn't work with Candy Bar.
EDIT: WOW, ignore that temporary stupid moment I just had. I just forgot everything I ever knew about Macs for a few moments.

Those are really nice!
I actually like the default one though, but that's the best I've seen so far.
The fire hat one had some potential, but there was something off about it.

This one looks really cool though.

Quoted for truth. These are sweet.
I like this one, especially the second one. We need one with better flames and without the network line things, or just another version.

I'm not happy with the flames in either of the icons - I'm a designer and have work to do...so I don't really have the time to spend at the moment. However I'm still playing around with it! In my mind I can see some 3D flames with some nice shading!
Call me lame, but how the hell do I use these jokers?

The one with the circle on top of the paper looks good but doesn't seem to be positioned right in the dock.
( bring back the img tag!
)
Yes I've noticed a few bugs - I'll fix them now. And I'll also include installation instructions. ;-)
Thanks for all your comments and feedback!
The second one looks too much like his other program, Acquisition. But I'm pretty OK with the current one. It's recognizable, and still a helluva lot better than some others in my dock (new iTunes, I'm looking at you).

No question it sucked as it is. I just think someone could extend that idea and make a really great icon.

Ok, I've updated the icons and added some instructions for installing them. Still playing around with them so there might be an update in the future, but have design work to do now!

@Finney: Yes I know one of the icons in v2 looks like Acquisition - it was a bit of fun...I've dropped that one from v2.2
I kind of liked the one that looked like Acquisition, but, without the network lines.
Round icons have the wrong weight in the dock, and look weird. That's why I think the Acqusition shaped one is better.
