Good god.  I don't understand why I gave that kid the benefit of the doubt again, but i bought the stupid santas stocking whatever bundle they have, and since i purchased it, it said that the serials would be sent out the 11th, and this stuck in my mind because i thought a tuesday would be odd to send them out on, but whatever.  Still nothing there today, so I go on that joke of a website to see that even though the sale is over, their crack staff hasn't even taken it off yet, or made it not available.  but still, now it says the serials will be shipped out the 15th.

I made this post to vent, and beg everyone to give up on this guy, I sure have.  And they have some new bundle with 20 NEW apps, god I hope they fall on their face and the developers sell them on their own and make a good amount tongue

...Sorry to hear that. sad Really, what is it with that guy and mystery bundles anyway?

He should learn from the example of MacUpdate, who broke their sales target, and without any tie-ins to MacHeist, I might add. Impressive.

If you bought using PayPal, you could try filing a complaint with them; otherwise, you could try calling up your credit card company to get your money back.

Best of luck to you - let us know how it goes. I've gotta say, Howson's come off a lot like a Phill Ryu/Directorate wanna-be.

yeah, more so frustrated, not sure if I feel like filing a complaint and all that.  I've just removed themacpak from the bookmarks and won't be buying another of their bundles any time soon.

Well. They still have your money. And you *still* haven't gotten your software.

Yeah, my only experience with TheMacPak was terrible. I won't be buying anything from them anymore.

hey, I meant to post this before, but didn't feel like making a topic for it, but just remembered while we're on the subject of shitty bundlers. what ever happened to that one that someone from macheist was repping?  with all that "the little birdy told me" i think it was themacbundle.com or something, supposed to be out in october, they did fantastic too.  I was searching for the old thread but couldn't find it, did they ever admit "nah, screw it, we can't do it"?

Let us know when you get your bundle what's in it. I've been really curious about that one.

Yeah, it was TheMacBundle, alright. The page is still here, complete with the little jab at me when I called it out as being part of TheMacPak.

Interestingly, I've also seen this: http://pownce.com/themacbundle/notes/512931/

haha, that's kind of funny. It seems so far only MacUpdate has had the organizational skills to even come close to replicating the MH 1 bundle success.

Well, I don't know. MacSanta did pretty well last year, and it's doing pretty well this year too (okay, so it's not really a bundle, but it's in the same general vein). Givegoodfoodtoyourmac should do pretty well just by virtue of the fact that it features CSSEdit, which everyone and their mother seems to be lusting after.

I love macsanta, sometimes just 20% off is enough to make people jump on the apps, I know I got comicbooklover and am so happy to have found it on macsanta.  Sure the maczot and mupromo 40% off are nice, but a macsanta kinda thing throughout the year, maybe with each app for a week or two would be cool.  but i don't know how many people jump on the apps with macsanta just because of the one day and you missed it (missed 20%, you can still get 10%) nature of it.

Mark Howsen is a lying, thieving, a****le [not sorry for being blunt] and a black cloud in the Mac community. I had tried buying something from The Mac Pak over a month back and I was never given what I ordered. The only time they responded was when after I escalated my complaint to paypal. The Mac Pak refunded me my money with a snotty, piss poor excuse of how I could have contacted their customer support. Well whatever.

Howsen needs to take business ethics 101 class. I could give two s**ts less if he reads this himself. You just do not do business like that, much less treat customers like s**t. DO NOT go to The Mac Pac site. DO NOT buy anything Mark Howsen sells. Keep your money in your pocket and RUN the other way.

im still waiting for my TuneBar license for months. Mark never responded to any of my emails and i sent him some.Even tried with TuneBar developer but never get answer.
With the change of TheMacPak into sort kind of Amazon i tried the new live chat 24h, a very gentleman dude told me that he was going to work on my incidence. And he was going to talk with TuneBar develpment quickly....But today i've got nothing.

bisley,  sorry to hear about your problems and wish you luck.

For what it's worth I was waiting for the developer to update TuneX(old name) that I received through I think MacAppaDay as it soon failed to run not long after I received it.  He even posted on his site that he would be eventually releasing a version to address some bugs he was aware for that specially released version.

Months later site was changed and TuneBar became the name.  I think it was MacUpdate that had a promo with it being $8 or something.  I went ahead and bought it.  It was certainly a good enough app to justify $8 being thrown at it.  I don't use it often but it's convenient when I do.

All in all it was worth $8 to not bicker with anyone and get a working version.

Any serials yet to meet the December 15th deadline?

nah, this being the crew it's through I expect them all the 18th, while they say

i'm sure that'll mean they start going out the 15th and then flow over a couple days.  and even though the sale ended on the 10th, they still have the f'n image and page up.  they sure are on top of their game over there.

also the broken image under bitclamps link just screams "grade a operation"

11:00pm est and still not a single serial, or a single bundle app has been released.  Hooray.  we did get some bullshit email to give us the option of keeping the bundle or changing it to their new "20macapps" promotion that's 20 newly created programs or something.  I got that at 5:50 and responded to their question to say i want the bundle, and still nothing.  I'm sure they're going to use this "bundle change option" as a reason to not have the serials out.  I don't quite understand why I keep expecting anything to work out with them.

I love how your only option was to let them keep your money even longer without giving you anything.

Well, I may or may not be waiting to make sure there aren't any apps I wanted ;-)

Though tomorrow I'll be posting a complain with paypal if i don't get every single serial.  which I know I won't, unless there's stuff I planned on buying anyway.  but i doubt it.

that's the same thing i see, he's seriously going to have to get out of the mac community if he keeps doing this, and that last moron hanger oners like myself give up (well, i gave up).

I mentioned that in my email to support how i'm frustrated a) at not getting what was promised to me and b) for what this kids doing to his name and reputation every single f'n promotion he does.

also...dispute.  for the life of me i could not remember that word when i wrote up my "complaint with paypal" tongue

It may take a while, but I'd take comfort in the fact that generally, the Mac community sorts out people of ill and shady repute. Jack Campbell, infamous for his "Other Red" and MacMice/DV Forge ventures is one example of this.
