Hi everyone,
After long last, I'm happy to announce that we've finally come to a resolution on the Speed Download upgrade situation.
First off, I'd like to thank Yazsoft for doing the right thing here. And that right thing is that all purchasers of the MacHeist II bundle can now receive a Speed Download 5 license for free. Here are the specific details:
• This offer will last a total of 14 days from today (expires March 27, 2008).
• All MacHeist II bundle purchasers interested in Speed Download 5 can get it for free by entering username/email on this webpage. Once your info is validated, you'll receive your personalized Speed Download 5 info via email.
• Those of you who get Speed Download 5 for free will only get one Speed Download 5 license (not two). That free Speed Download 5 license will not qualify for discounted pricing or a free upgrade to Speed Download 6 when it's released.
• All MacHeist II bundle purchasers who've already purchased the Speed Download 5 upgrade for $15 before the start of this 14 day arrangement have 2 options:you can do nothing and keep the two Speed Download 5 licenses you received as well as get Speed Download 6 for free when it's released
- or -
you can request for a refund from Yazsoft, in which case the 2nd Speed Download 5 license supplied to you will be de-activated and the free upgrade to Speed Download 6 removed• All MacHeist II bundle purchasers who'd like to purchase the Speed Download 5 upgrade for $15 to show their support (during this 14-day period) will continue to get a 2nd Speed Download 5 license for free. If you choose to do this you'll also get Speed Download 6 for free when it's released.
• All MacHeist II bundle purchasers users that would like to purchase the Speed Download 5 upgrade for $15 to show their support (after this 14-day period) will continue to get a 2nd Speed Download 5 license for free. A free upgrade to Speed Download 6 will not be offered however.

We believe that this solution will satisfy everyone involved. We're happy because this action by Yaszoft shows that they now have your best interests in mind and they've gained my trust back. Much of what happened here was a result of poor communication but we're all ready to move on here. Hell, I'll even take back my "weasels" comment about them.
This was an extremely important issue for us because we publicly announced that all licenses for software purchased in MacHeist II would be the same as purchasing through the developer directly... and now we finally have that and closure on the situation.
So let's get past this whole ordeal: get ready to enjoy Speed Downaload 5 and be prepared for some interesting things that we have coming up here soon...
Cool. I'm glad to see things have been worked out to some kind of amicable solution. I hope it settles the issue once and for all and that this whole debacle doesn't hamper MacHeist III.

Please work closer with the developers next year so something like this doesn't happen again.

They finally did the right thing but they still could've handled this in a much better manner.
I'll gladly take the software for free but I will NEVER support Yazsoft again. The shitty public relations that they have along with the numerous attempts to "rectify" the situation showed their true colors.
Question... I got my new code and the email says its a license for one COMPUTER.
Their website says the license is for one USER.
Which is it? I've always taken one USER to mean just that... ONE *ME*. Meaning if I have a license, *I* can use it on any of my computers, but only on one computer at a time.
One COMPUTER usually means one computer and if you install it on another computer, you're breaking your license even if they are never used at the same time.
So which is it? The email says one computer, their website one user...
Seems like Yazsoft just has a problem using proper words in their correct usage and consistently.

I'm trying to get my licencse but the web page keeps saying "Sorry, we could not verify your registration information. Please try again"
I'm thinking if this could be because of the accent in my last name.

Thanks for fixing this, I also need some clarification on what aaroncp posted.
Also, why did they decide to use an ip address? All that site is doing it seems is being pointed to a Google Email Host (business level email), so why not just build a page on yazsoft.com.. I am not one to normally type my info in little boxes that appear on *random* sites, regardless if it was linked here.. just a thought.

Try removing the accent, and make sure you're using your paypal email address.

Already tried without the accend and the e-mail is my paypal mail.
I even copy&pasted the info from the license info in macheist order.
Glad both sides worked it out, both business and personal it would seem. I hope everyone learned a lesson here about how to conduct business. The devil is in the details. Both sides made mistakes we can all learn from. However in resolving this there are lessons for us all in that as well. Giving people a chance to make it right and figure out went wrong is usually the best way to go about things...then move on and move forward.

PS...I know a few good contract attorneys who are mac users and might be interested in looking over the contract next year

Okay, just for clarity's sake - the old offer of the free upgrade to SD6 (if we just wait and do nothing) is no longer valid then, correct? It might be good to mention that in the terms, above.
I guess I'll opt for the free SD5 upgrade then ....

LOL, I bought the Speed Download 5 upgrade back in February and didn't think that people were mad at Yazsoft for the upgrade. I figured I got version 4 for free and paying $15 for version 5 was not a big deal, $15 is not a bad price. At first I was bummed when I got the Twitter message that we would get a free copy of version 5, but after reading Red's post I'll let a friend use my free copy. Thanks MH for the effort I didn't even know existed!
