Lol, just because the website is pretty? tongue It does look extremely slick... If they get the interface (and I don't mean the eye-candy) right, this could be awesome. I still prefer NNW over NewsFire because the interface works much more efficiently for me.

By the way, I did some Googling. The company is Doseido, they haven't done any apps. Website: http://www.doseido.com/

Additionally, PixelMatrix did a WWDC shirt for them here: http://www.pixelmatrixdesign.com/blog/?p=50 (May 26th). The blog post says:

Going to WWDC? You might spot a couple of these shirts going around. I recently had the opportunity to design some slick new shirts for Doseido Software. Doseido is working on it’s first app, and they are determined to do it right! Their upcoming app, called Headline, is going to be a revolutionary delicious RSS reader. You can find out more by visiting their teaser page, and adding your email to the list. More information is on it’s way and i’m willing to bet we’ll see some more info in the next couple of weeks.

Let the fun begin!

Has anyone ever heard of these guys before? I can see it now: Headline, the Disco of RSS readers (insert flames here).

Frankly, I'm keen on knowing what's going to come out of them at WWDC.

You know what? I have to admit it, but I am a Google-head. I use G-reader everyday and it is awesome.

I will sign up for this, but I am still doubtful anything can beat my good ol' reader.

I use Google Reader too.

Especially with the introduction of Google Gears, Google Reader has become a very nice RSS client. And it's accessible from (almost) anywhere.

Does the world need another RSS reader? And most of them are already good. Not counting the dozens of online ones, you have Newsfire, NetnewsWire, Vienna, ThinkMac's one (forgot the name), Shrook, PulpWhatever, Feed Popper, RSS Menu and Safari. And that's just off the top of my head. And Mail is getting RSS in Leopard!

This thing better be insanely great if they expect to sell it.

I'm a huge fan of NewsFire, but competition is always a good thing!

And none of them seem sexy enough for me.

(where do you think I stumbled on that link from? wink)

I love NewsFire but there is one big feature I really wish it had ... syncing. I keep considering NNW because it does but I just really don't like the interface and I like the way NF handles feeds.

I wonder if this is the same as "Cyndicate," the app that Adam Betts designed the icon for, and then got in an argument with the developers.

The icon pictured on the website looks quite different.

Why would it look the same? They broke off the "Cyndicate" thing.

If you're still interested, the website has been updated, with little more info on the app itself, but they did write a blog post and post some info about the developers. They're aiming for a fall 2007 release and plan to create something "delicious". Check it out: http://www.headlineapp.com/
