Ha, so he did do it, even with their security measures... Interesting to see how far this will go, the guy is obviously enjoying himself.

Why is everyone listing websites? This infantile person can't keep any site down for more than 24 hours. Whoever is obsessively offended by sites specializing in a particular field of content enough to hack them clearly has some major social aberrations. This "threat" —more like a minor annoyance— is short lived. He'll be caught in less than 2 weeks.

does this guy have a life? What's the point of doing this? Well I guess I'll just see what happens.

Why'd you edit your post?

Wait, are Glenn Wolsey's site and Macapper both powered by wordpress? So maybe it's all a wordpress thing and he can only hack wordpress sites. So he might not be as good of a hacker as some might think.... hmm....

@Rampancy - The Editor that maintains the website did put a few security measures in place, though he still got through. Miles (MacApper owner) is on his anniversary now, so this may not be fixed for a few more hours.

I don't doubt that, but I would have thought that Miles would have given someone else access to the server in the event that something like this happened. Well. I guess you really can't anticipate anything like this happening, though...

I don't know about you, but if I'm running a website I would always expect the threat of being hacked or attacked in some manner.  Again, things just aren't matching up correctly to make this appear to be a legitimate gripe.

...were all very nice suggestions for his next "take-down," though if those sites have the security in place that MH does, then I doubt that would be a problem.

Because MyDreamApp is a hub of fanboy activity. Fun fact: There aren't any people using that site.

Well this is interesting. I'll second the thoughts about him being a wanker. Furthermore, I suggest that we just ignore him to the best of our collective abilities and eventually he'll get bored and go away.

Again, all the reason why I think that this isn't serious.  If they really wished to take down things of "MacFanboyism" they'd go after the Delicious sites.  So far, he hasn't.

big_smile Most of those sites are not updated much.

Phillryu- Posts, I don't know... monthly?
MDA- Well who knows when the apps will ever come out...
Disco- It's an application site!?! Why would someone suggest it, not a forum or updated blog in sight!
Mac themes- why...

This guy obviously just wants to be seen. Who knows maybe even these hacks are helping publicize the hacked sites (indirectly). And I'm still convinced he can only hack wordpress sites.

The more I think about this, the more fake it seems. Glenn Wolsey never made a big deal about the hacking, and why would the hacker target glennwolsey.com and macapper.com. Doesn't make sense. Even more curious is the malcor.blogspot.com domain. You think a real hacker would have a real domain with real hosting. This makes it seem like a quick job. The more I think about it, the more fake I think it is...

*GASP* Just thought of something!!

This sounds like the beginning of Macheist 2!!

Think of it. It's kind of like the Hubert thing of last year. Like an intro to MHII. John has talked to Macapper and Glenn, this whole thing feels sorta like a heist. Maybe this is our way of getting into Macheist.

/conspiracy theory

I don't think that.  They would've used something other than Blogger...probably their own domain.

But like you said, if it was a real hacker they might be more likely to have their own domain.

I don't think so... but hey it does seem like a big publicity stunt.

What is a malcor? big_smile

If this Malcor thing really gets big, I'll be glad to take credit for the whole thing. tongue

FWIW, I'm also fairly suspicious of it being a fake too, but I'm keeping an open mind...
